* SDS PAGE Buffers Information
Description:
SDS (Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate) is an effective protein denaturant which creates a net negative charge on the protein molecule. This allows the release of secondary structures in an aid to the separation of complex protein mixtures. Thus allowing accurate determination of the molecular weights of proteins when electrophoresed against known mw standard markers.
Tris-Glycine buffers are all available with SDS already included. They are used primarily in proteomics for electrophoresis of protein molecules.
