4X Laemmli sample buffer
Description:
4X Laemmli buffer which is used to prepare protein samples for denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and other Bis-Tris gels.
Product contains 2-Mercaptoethanol.
The 2-mercaptoethanol reduces the disulfide bonds and the SDS detergent denatures the proteins giving each an overall negative charge so that each will separate based on a poly- acrylamide gel by size.
The bromophenol blue serves as a dye front that runs ahead of the proteins and serves to indicate the sample during loading.
Glycerol increases the density of the sample so that it will layer in the sample well.
