Cyano-Acrylate Adhesive

Ethyl Cyano-acrylate polymerises on some latent fingerprints to form a white deposit. The reaction is polymerised by water and the constituents of the fingerprint. Optimum development conditions occur at 80% humidity at room temp. heating the print speeds up evaporation. The print maybe visualised using a fluorescent dye such as basic yellow 40 in ethanol, on a range of non porous surfaces.
